Help us campaign today for a better tomorrow!
Dustin Wade, a nurse with a decade of devoted service to our local community, has been instrumental in delivering care to those most in need throughout our district. As both a Licensed Nurse and a Qualified Mental Health Professional for adults and children, Dustin has consistently championed the health and welfare of our community members. He holds certifications from the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association (DDNA), recognizing him as a certified professional in the field. Additionally, Dustin's expertise in health care quality is evident, having been involved in various healthcare advisory groups. His career spans across Chesterfield, Hopewell, and Prince George, where he has played a pivotal role in caring for numerous families in the region.
Currently, Dustin serves on the Board of Directors for The James House, the sole accredited nonprofit in the Greater Tri-Cities Region dedicated to assisting those impacted by sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking. This vital organization operates in the cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Petersburg, as well as Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Surry, Sussex counties, and Fort Lee, providing trauma-informed, confidential, and cost-free services.
Dustin's influential contributions were acknowledged twice by the Disability Law Center of Virginia, first in 2023 and again in 2024, at the Disability Impact Awards. This prestigious event commends those whose innovative, dedicated, and impactful advocacy efforts have markedly improved the lives of individuals with disabilities. Dustin's recognition at these ceremonies underscores his significant role in championing disability rights and contributing to meaningful change in the community.
Furthermore, in 2023, Dustin co-founded the Capital Area Resource Provider Network, a nonprofit association dedicated to supporting minority-owned small businesses operating under DBHDS. This organization focuses on advocating for, educating licensed providers, and giving back to the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD) community, exemplifying Dustin's ongoing commitment to inclusive and comprehensive healthcare.
Growing up in this district has given him an intimate understanding of our unique challenges and strengths. From the playgrounds of Chesterfield to the historic streets of Hopewell, every corner of our district has shaped who he is.
His campaign is built on the foundation of unity, an unwavering commitment to embrace the rich diversity that defines us. He believes that our differences are not just to be acknowledged but celebrated, as they are the fabric of our collective strength.
